The first four-trait ImmunoStrip for detecting Bt-Cry1F, Bt-Cry2A, Bt-Cry34Ab1, and Bt-Cry3Bb1 proteins in SmartStax® seed corn and leaves has now been commercialized by Agdia®, Inc.

A new, easy-to-use dual trait ELISA validated to confirm the absence or presence of Bt-Cry1F and Bt-Cry34Ab1 proteins expressed in HERCULEX® XTRA seed corn has now been commercialized by Agdia, Inc. Capable of detecting both analytes in the same test well, this new dual-protein ELISA significantly reduces labor and cost.

Elkhart, IN (Feb. 18) -- Agdia, Inc. has licensed TwistDX’s patented Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) technology for the detection of plant pathogens. Under the terms of the agreement, Agdia will develop, manufacture, and commercialize rapid DNA and RNA test kits and services that utilize the RPA technology under the trade name AmplifyRP.

Four bacterial isolates, not related to Cmm and not pathogenic to tomato plants, have been confirmed to produce strong positive reactions on Agdia’s Cmm ImmunoStrip, catalog number, ISK 44001 and STX 44001. Three isolates have been identified by sequencing as Ochrobactrum species; one isolate has been identified as Microbacterium paraoxydans [1]. Agdia has received copies of these isolates and has confirmed the positive reactions observed with the Cmm ImmunoStrip.
